Hyundai Fluid Motion

In this ground breaking commercial Machine Shop drew from expertise in fluid effects, model making, special effects rigging and high-speed filming to help create a truly unique commercial for Hyundai.

To create the effects scale versions of three Hyundai cars were CNC machined from highly complex virtual 3D models. The finished cars were rigged onto a custom built track that enabled their controlled movement through a pool of silver fluid. The rigged model cars were finally filmed at 2000fps moving through the fluid to create the dramatic wave formations used to create the video. In post-production the model cars were digitally enhanced to make them indistinguishable from the real cars.
