Burberry Fashion Show

To create a confetti effect for their live catwalk show during London Fashion Week, clothing designer Burberry chose Machine Shop’s patented Confetti Droppers over other solutions because they were confident that only the Machine Shop Droppers were able to deliver the particular effect they wanted in a suitably controlled manner.
In addition to the specific ‘single point’ style of confetti drop, Burberry had a very specific colour and shape in mind for the effect. This required Machine Shop to further develop the design of the existing Confetti Droppers to enable the use of the mixed confetti types that were chosen by Machine Shop to create the subtle colour effect desired by the Burberry. The final mixture included the use of clear pieces of acetate specially treated to reduce static and fabricated in an incredibly short time by Machine Shop’s suppliers in the USA, as opposed to the inferior far-eastern products used in other commercial solutions. After modification, the Droppers deployed their payload perfectly, proving the machines to be adaptable to different confetti mediums and thereby presenting Machine Shop’s clients with greater scope in what can be achieved.
At the live event the final effect was totally unique and used the greatest number of Droppers so far in a single effect (14 units over a 45 metres long catwalk). The Droppers could also run sequentially due to the DMX controls that Machine Shop have developed and built into them.
