High Speed Trigger/Sequencer
Machine Shop built this unit to provide accurate sequential switching in high speed shooting conditions and when precision triggering accuracy is required. The unit has 4 inputs and can operate over 8 channels with a programmable digital memory, switching at intervals accurate the nearest millisecond.
Typically the device is used to create accurate sequences of pyrotechnic detonations when filming at high speed. In these circumstances the explicit controlled arrangement of detonations is essential to creating the desired effect and would be otherwise be virtually impossible to coordinate by at human operator level.
The unit has a shutter release system, which can interpret a signal from one of its 4 inputs to trigger a camera shutter (or other output). An example would be to place a laser on one of the inputs, when the laser beam is broken the unit will send an impulse to the camera releasing the shutter at the precise moment.
