'A World of Cracking Ideas'
In January, Machine Shop was appointed as the interactive exhibits build contractor to work on the new £2million Aardman Animations project at the Science Museum.
The new project, entitled ‘Wallace & Gromit Present a World of Cracking Ideas’ features a 1000m2 model of the Aardman animation characters’ house and garden filled with various physical and audio visual interactive exhibits.
Exhibits installed by Machine Shop include a large (10ft+) waterwheel, which is powered by a team of visitors using pumps to lift water to an overhead tank; and the ‘Piella Propeller’, drawing from themes in the more recent Christmas instalment of Wallace and Gromit, which utilises air pressure generated by visitors to propel a balloon upwards.
‘A World Of Cracking Ideas’ aims to encourage a new era of inventors and was opened to the public in March. Read more. See more. YouTube.
