Oliver Clegg Chess Installation

In addition to a beautful chess set, Machine Shop provided an illusion effect for the Oliver Clegg Chess Installation at the Freud Museum.

A giant light bulb was placed above the desk and chair in the main room of the exhibition. The bulb was connected to a special electronic unit developed in-house to allow the gradual dimming of the bulb, which appears to float over the space that Freud would have occupied suggesting the act of thinking (symbolised by a light bulb) as the great man worked at his desk.
